Incoming wall of text! At first I really didn't like the Lara-Su chronicles. Now it's more of a thing that I would sort of like to see be done adequatel.

Three: the Archie Sonic series has had different Mobian species actively interbreeding, including an echidna and a hedgehog (Mari-An and Rob) and later on in Ian Flynn's run, an echidna and a crocodile (Lara-Su and Argyle are heavily implied to be the future Edmund's parents).

In December 2011, Penders announced the continuation would be in the form of a graphic novel series, entitled The Lara-Su Chronicles. [9] [6] [23] The series also is set to feature many other characters created during his time at Archie, with it serving as a continuation of a story he had written for the Sonic comic, "Mobius: 25 Years Later".

A small quirk, but an identifying one. Author Tract: Ken is very open about his beliefs, which materialized in his work. Ken is open against the use of weapons. In Issue 148, he wrote Rotor as openly hating guns, with him saying "The Freedom Fighters never use guns. Never have, never will."

The Lara-Su Chronicles is a series by former writer Ken Penders utilizing the characters he created for Archie which he owns the rights too. It follows on from the material that Penders wrote for the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comics, disregarding anything that came after.

THE LARA-SU CHRONICLES: BEGINNINGS is going to be sent to the printer either late December 2023 / early January 2024. Production and delivery will span approximately 3 months. It will be available for Comic-Con 2024. The only way to score a copy sooner is by pre-ordering it. The initial print run will be 2000 copies.

Weirdly he doesn't copy/trace Knuckles though, instead he draws a version which I assume is his Lara-Su Chronicles K'Nox version - which further makes a mess of the whole image as now we potentially have the new version leading the old versions as they break through from the new version. But this choice also changes the angle of the characters.

Ken Penders' website has a blog post where THE LARA-SU CHRONICLES: BEGINNINGS is just a reprint of Mobius: 25 Years Later The key difference is that there's a page at the end of #144 that will transition the story into his new story.
